Why I built it

Figma Make was in beta and I wanted to test it on something real. Could AI help me build a whole product, not just a screen?

The problem I picked: good prompts are valuable, and they get lost in chats, notes and messy docs.

What it was

A place to write, organize and version AI prompts.

The Promnia prompt editor showing Code Review Assistant. The prompt has two edits added, tinted in green, next to tags, word and character counts, and a version history.
A recreation of the editor. The original app is offline.

01

Markdown editor

With live highlighting. A developer-style editor for everyone, betting that markdown would become the standard way to structure a prompt.

02

Versions.

Every save creates a version with a note, and any version can be restored.

03

Projects and tags

To group prompts by topic, client or goal.

04

Quick actions:

Share, duplicate, copy, download as .txt.

05

Public links

That work without an account.

Teams were next on the roadmap.

I built the interface in Figma Make, the backend on Supabase using the Figma Make integration, and ran the work in Linear like a real product. Around it I made a landing page, an early-access social campaign, a release plan, a market analysis and user personas.

Why I stopped

The problem moved. Prompts stopped being something people save: every AI chat is now prompting. Then skills arrived, and GitHub already makes sharing markdown files easy.

The research and the pace of AI releases made the call clear. I archived Promnia before its official release.

What I took away

  1. 01AI makes building fast. Knowing whether the problem will still exist in six months is the hard part.
  2. 02The markdown bet held: skills are markdown files. The product around it wasn’t needed.
  3. 03Research let me stop with clarity instead of guilt.
